An anaerobic-aerobic process for treating pharmaceutical wastewater achieves a BOD5 removal rate of 95% and a COD removal rate of 96%, with stable treatment results. A micro-electrolysis-anaerobic hydrolysis acidification-SBR process for treating chemically synthesized pharmaceutical wastewater shows that the entire series process has strong resistance to changes in wastewater quality and quantity, achieving a COD removal rate of 85%–92%, making it an ideal process choice for treating pharmaceutical wastewater. In the treatment of pharmaceutical intermediate wastewater, a hydrolysis acidification-A/O-catalytic oxidation-contact oxidation process is used. When the influent COD is around 12000 mg/L, the effluent COD reaches below 280 mg/L. A biofilm-SBR method for treating pharmaceutical wastewater containing recalcitrant biodegradable substances achieves a COD removal rate of 88.5%–98.5%, far exceeding the treatment effects of biofilm and SBR methods alone.
